OVERVIEW
Xakanaxa Camp, a sophisticated tented camp, is situated in the lush northern region of the Moremi Game Reserve, a unique area made up of permanent delta waterways, vast floodplains, a lagoon and dry woodlands. One of the first safari camps in the area, Xakanaxa prides itself on providing an authentic safari experience with all the comforts and little luxuries you expect from a luxury tented camp. Spend some time exploring the region on boating safaris and short mokoro trips. You can also view the game and birdlife on land-based activities such as game drives and trips to nearby heronries. FACILITIES The main lodge is made from local timber, reed and thatch and is positioned to overlook the Khwai River and lagoon. The area is made up of various comfortable lounge areas, a well stocked library, a help-yourself bar and an elegant, open-sided dining area with an enormous communal dining table. These living areas spill onto an expansive wooden deck with idyllic views of the river. Private plunge pools and sun decks overlook the delta waterways, while a larger swimming pool brings the camp together for opportunities to spend a lazy day in the sun. After dinner sit around the camp fire and watch the myriad stars in the African night sky. A chance to freshen up is followed by pre-dinner cocktails and snacks, dinner and coffee and liqueurs on the fire-deck. Activities include game drives in open Land Rovers, water game viewing in mokoros in conjunction with powerboat exploration of the Okavango which is available year round. |
